inspiration for daylight luminaire

Daylight is extraordinary when intercepted, filtered, and redirected by beautiful screens. My daylight luminaire will attempt to capture the filtering and scattering effect of the forest canopy, using textures inspired by the light and elegant grass silhouetted by the sunset.

Dianne,

I am intrigued by your idea of a daylight luminaire. I'm guessing that you mean that you will capture natural daylight with some translucent / screen material or surfaces to bounce the light so that it is transformed. It would be really great if you could make your fixture have the diaphanous, mutable quality of a tree's canopy.

Consider how much the fixture wants to mimic nature and how much it will bring in its own spirit.

I think of those nightlight lanterns whose rotates because the rising heat from the bulb or flame pushes a pinwheel device. Whether you use natural heat, air currents or an electronically programmed board, it would be interesting to see one fixture with that provides changing light.
